"Music, Spirituality, & Queer Community' with Rev. Jim Mitulski

  • Studio Theater (LM 148) 2800 Turk Boulevard San Francisco, CA, 94118 United States (map)

Join us for a special event featuring an interview with Rev. Jim Mitulski. In conversation, Rev. Mitulski will reflect on how music and spirituality became vital voices for social change in queer communities during the AIDS crisis. Drawing on his years as Pastor of Metropolitan Community Church San Francisco (1986–2000), he will share personal stories and explore the musical influences that shaped his ministry and the community’s resilience in the face of systemic exclusion.

Rev. Dr. Jim Mitulski is pastor of Congregational Church of the Peninsula in Belmont, CA, and a resident of Oakland, CA. He has been a pastor in both the Metropolitan Community Churches (the historically queer/LGBTQ Church) and the United Church of Christ for over 40 years. He is a founding board member of both the LGBTQ Religious Archives Network, and the Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies in Religion at Pacific School of Religion.
