Jazz Band

This course offers students the opportunity to perform in a dynamic, collaborative jazz ensemble, exploring a wide range of styles including swing, bebop, Latin jazz, funk, and contemporary fusion. Through regular rehearsals and live performances, students will strengthen their improvisation skills, ensemble playing, stylistic interpretation, and musical communication.

Open to instrumentalists and vocalists with experience in jazz or a related genre, the ensemble performs both classic repertoire and innovative arrangements, with opportunities for solo features and student-led arrangements. Emphasis is placed on listening, groove, and expressive performance in a supportive, creative environment.

Audition or instructor approval may be required. May be repeated for credit.

Meeting Time: Tuesday, 4:35-6:20 pm in ED 040
