Chamber Ensemble
This course offers students the opportunity to perform in small instrumental ensembles, focusing on collaborative music-making, attentive listening, and interpretive nuance. Repertoire is drawn from a wide range of traditions, including classical chamber music, contemporary works, and global musical styles.
Through weekly rehearsals and coaching sessions, students will strengthen ensemble skills such as communication, balance, phrasing, and leadership within a group setting. The course culminates in a public performance showcasing each ensemble’s work.
Open to instrumentalists of all backgrounds; placement is determined in consultation with the instructor. May be repeated for credit.
Meeting Time: Friday, 1:00-3:00 pm in LM 151
